You are invited...

To celebrate the awesomeness of women in HR having their biggest impact

Let me take you back...

It's May 2024. 240 women have just collectively sung 'F*ck You Very Much' by Lily Allen and been invited to be part of a rebellion. A rebellion against all the ways we're told we should be as 'HR'. A rebellion against HR being overlooked, undervalued and misunderstood. A rebellion against the notion that there is anything about them that needs to change or be fixed.

Five women decided to take this to the next level.

Join us in Manchester on Monday 25th November from 7 - 9pm for your opportunity to see their impact, amplified.

Introducing your speakers for the evening - the Amplify Your Impact May '24 Superstars

Jenny Armstrong

How love and loss has shaped who I am today

On the morning of December 21, 2020, while working from her houseboat in London, Jenny received a call that was to change her life forever. Her sister Kathryn had collapsed, been rushed to the hospital, and was placed on life support. Jenny flew that day to Aberdeen, but tragically, Kathryn passed away in the early hours of December 22, 2020. Just a day before, on December 20, 2020, Jenny was an Associate Partner at a prominent HR recruitment firm. By January 2021, she had resigned, as nothing looked or felt the same. This is a story of love, friendship and loss, and what she did next…Join us to hear how Jenny turned grief into a powerful tool to create personal and professional change.

Jo Bailey

Good things come sooner

Self-confessed quirky accountant Jo has dealt with a lifetime of criticism. Growing up being told she was too loud, too overweight, too hardworking, too clumsy, too lively, TOO MUCH resulted in anxiety and fear which kept her on high alert, even in adulthood. Add in perimenopause and the anxiety led to physically and mentally debilitating panic attacks until, at age 58, she decided she wanted more for herself. She is learning to face her fears as she starts her new business and she wants others who have gone through similar experiences to learn that they ARE ENOUGH much earlier than at the age of 58! To know that their people are out there and will be joyful every time they see you because you are YOU. For Jo, ‘Good Things take time’. For others she hopes ‘Good things come sooner’.

Amy Bearman

Resilience knows no bounds

Mother Nature threw Amy every curveball imaginable; miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis, failed IVF, early menopause - and she faced them all head-on. Despite reeling at the impossibility of doing what she felt destined to do - procreate - she discovered a new purpose. Thanks to a friend's timely introduction to running, Amy transformed her life, starting with a humble 5k. Progressing now to ultras, she has over 2000 miles under her belt and a dazzling array of medals adorning her. She's living proof that resilience knows no bounds. Picture this: At mile 20, she thought she was dead. At mile 22, she wished she was dead. At mile 24, she knew she was dead. But by mile 26, she had become too tough to kill. Join us to hear the incredible story of a woman who turned personal agony into extraordinary achievement. Her candid, humorous, and unfiltered journey will leave you inspired to redefine your own limits.

Rachel Bennett

Me, and The Shadow

Rachel is a recovering workaholic, people-pleaser, and perfectionist who used to think working long hours, saying yes to everything, and obsessing over perfection were badges of honour. Realising that trying to be everyone's hero just made her the villain of her own story, Rachel went on her own transformative journey which she'll be sharing - complete with bumps and bruises along the way. Rachel authored "Shadow Cultures" and is on a mission to equip us all with the tools to transform organisational cultures, one step at a time. Join Rachel as she reveals her insights and strategies for creating healthier, more productive workplace environments and laugh, learn, and leave those shadowy problems in the dust!

Becky Price

Resilience to a fault - learning to take life in 3rd gear

There's never been any doubt that Becky would achieve her high expectations because she would keep working towards it. No. Matter. What. Curveballs and challenges wouldn't stop her. Bad bosses wouldn't define her. Surprise settlement agreements were ‘just a part of life’. But after having her second child in less than 2 years, completing and moving house 5 weeks later and then returning to work in a very different role to the one sold to her, she realised that something had to change. What do you do when you reach your goals and you don’t know how to slow down once there?  Becky is working out what cruise control looks like in her life and how allowing herself to be less resilient and more vulnerable is opening up some very different stops on the journey, which never would have been possible if she had remained in 6th gear to the destination.

And for one night only, you're going to get to ask her anything.

Included in the evening is a Q&A with Emma, hosted by one of the Amplify Your Impact graduates, where you'll get to hear her own story of transforming from 'just HR' to inspiring women in the profession to be their boldest, truest selves. And if you've ever met Emma, you'll know she's not one to play her cards close to her chest...
